Number 82 – Designed by Sam Berriman (1949) and aded to by Thomson & Wolveridge (1979) and Bob Shearer (1990 and ongoing) The Southern Golf Club is renowned as one of the best kept private golf courses on the Melbourne Sandbelt. The course is an array of assorted styled holes with mature trees lining the fairways of the older holes to penalise any misguided shots whilst strategic waterholes catch any errant shots on the newer holes. Southern is a golf course which should be enjoyed by good golfers and beginners alike, it rewards an aggresive player yet also should encourage any beginner golfer. (Southern has added a new multi-million dollar Clubhouse in late 2003)
