Number 91 – Designed by William Henry Angove (1898)/various (1963) The Albany Golf Club was established in 1898 and is the oldest golf course in Western Australia and is still based on it’s original site. Running along Middleton Beach with beautiful views over King George Sound you can take in the scenery and fresh sea air on some holes and be nestled in corridors of Peppermint Trees on others. This picturesque setting can provide for some very challenging golf however, especially when the wind is up and you have to deal with the uneven lies presented by fairways grassed over original sand dunes. Once described by Craig Parry as his favourite Australian golf course, the windswept fairways are typical links land with swales and undulations, and the smooth greens are slick with subtle variations.
