The Avondale golf course was founded in 1926, in the leafy suburb of Pymble on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Avondale is a well maintained and challenging course, with the greens being lightning quick and true, and you’ll get excellent value for your shot making as a result of the well conditioned fairways. Be warned, if you find yourself traipsing all over the course due to stray shot making, you will have a tough day as the course has been extremely well integrated into the surrounding bushland. However one of the joys of the course is that a few holes in, you don’t even feel as though you are in Sydney because of the surrounding bushland and you feel isolated from the outside world. Avondale can get quite hot due to farways being sheltered and there being no wind to cool you down so take plenty of fluids.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
