This is one of my favourite courses to play in Victoria. It’s not super long, but then again it doesn’t need to be as the greens, wind and constant undulations create their own challenges. Also, expect to see magnificent views on the back 9 looking over The National and down towards Portsea. Cape Schanck has an excellent layout as you are rarely aware of any other hole on the course due to each hole being carved from the native tea tree brush. The course is usually in very good condition with undulations in the greens to test the best of putters.The greens are quick here but there is certainly a trick to them, and that is your putts will always roll towards the ocean even when it doesn’t look like it is meant to. Two tips; Watch out once the wind picks up and ensure you get a golf cart, unless you are a fitness fanatic.
