The Number 1 Golf Course in Australia – The Royal Melbourne Composite course consists of 12 holes from the West course and six from the East. Designed by Alister Mackenzie (West course, 1931) and Alex Russell (East course in 1932). Royal Melbourne is widely regarded as the best in Australia with its immaculte conditioning and is a course to rival the best in the world. This area of Melbourne has been blessed with perfect terrain and topography with these awe inspring holes naturally unduating over a sandy base which has the added bonus of excellent drainage should it choose to rain. Holes to watch for 6th, 10th and 16th (Ranked 6th best Golf Course in the World outside the USA by Golf Digest magazine in 2007)( The course held the President’s Cup in 1998, and will host it again in 2011.)
